After a review of the NES Infection Prevention and Control Zone on Turas Learn, the following educational resources have been withdrawn:

Audit for improvement: Using audits to support improved practice
The Preventing infection in Social Care Settings pocket book has been fully reviewed and updated. You can find the updated resource in the Preventing Infection in Social Care Settings page.
The Raising awareness of antimicrobial stewardship for nurses and midwives learning resources have been rearranged into a learning programme that will now enable staff to access a certificate of completion they can upload, e.g. for their NMC revalidation.
The resource is now fully updated and available to access in the In it together to Get it Right: Practical Application of SICPs and TBPs page.

The spotlight article is about the IPC Education Team rebranding.
Please note that the term βalcohol-based hand rub (ABHR)β has now been updated to βhand rubβ in the National Infection Prevention and Control Manual (NIPCM). A hand rub (alcohol or non-alcohol based) can be used if it meets the required standards. Please see further information in the hand hygiene products literature review.
All educational resources on the IPC Zone will be updated in due course.
This change does not have any implications for hand hygiene practice.
